The Scotts® EZ Seed® Patch & Repair Sun and Shade grass seed is specially formulated to thrive in tough conditions, including full sun, dense shade, high-traffic areas, and slopes. This versatile product makes it easier to achieve a lush, healthy lawn, even in challenging environments.
To ensure success, the process is straightforward and involves three easy steps: 1) prepare the area by removing dead grass and loosening hard soil, 2) evenly apply the EZ Seed® so the area is mostly covered, but bare ground is still visible, and 3) thoroughly saturate the area with water until no more is being absorbed and the mulch turns dark brown.
For optimal results, the grass seed should be planted during the spring or fall seasons when the daily average soil temperatures are consistently between 55°F and 70°F, or when the air temperatures range between 60°F and 80°F. To protect the newly planted seedlings, it is recommended to keep off kids, pets, and lawn mowers until the grass reaches a height of 3 inches.
