Scotts® Halts® Crabgrass & Grassy Weed Preventer is designed to prevent the germination of a variety of lawn weeds, allowing you to enjoy a lush, healthy lawn. In early spring, apply the product to a dry lawn to prevent the germination of crabgrass, foxtail, spurge, barnyardgrass, fall panicum, goosegrass, and oxalis throughout the entire season. For goosegrass control, a repeat application in 8 weeks is recommended. To prevent the growth of moss (except in California), Poa annua, henbit, corn speedwell, and chickweed, apply the product in the fall (August-October). This pre-emergent weed killer can be used on all lawn and grass types, with the exception of Dichondra or Bentgrass. Notably, rain, snow, or freezing weather after application will not affect the performance of the product. It's important to note that this product is designed to control crabgrass in its early stages of growth and does not control mature crabgrass or other existing weeds. A single 10.06 lb. bag of Scotts® Halts® Crabgrass & Grassy Weed Preventer can cover an area of 5,000 sq. ft.
